Harvest

I cut the rest of the swiss chard and some oregano for soup.  I am surprised that the chard has made it this far, I expected it to die back by now.  I have left a few small leaves to see if when it warms up the plants start growing to provide some early greens.

  1. Nice! Our lettuce didn't survive the recent snow storms and freezes. Looks like we're waiting for early spring asparagus now.

  2. Don't you just love chard (or silverbeet as week call it)for it's tenacity. I've grown it continuously for four years never once sowing new seeds, it just keeps going and when the original plants went to seed, new ones came up around them. Of course now I have chard growing all over the garden, but there's nothing wrong with that.
