Yesterday we got a down pour of heavy rain in just a short period. According my garden rain gauge it was about four inches. My mulch path in the middle of the garden had already settled and compacted under all the traffic and was starting to thin. I had made a mental note last weekend that this week I need to add some mulch.
Yesterday's rain destroyed the path. The remaining mulch was pushed around and my good, loose soil started to wash into the path covering the rest of the mulch. So today I made sure to get more mulch down before it rains again and washes away more soil. This time making sure to mound it so that as it settles and compacts in won't sink below the garden level.
