Newport Garden Walk

Today I went to the Newport Garden Walk for the third year in a row.  I love going to this walk because these gardeners are creative.  The neighborhood consists of mainly old row houses built extremely close together.  Even in these small spaces I have seem some really interesting and beautiful designs.  There is no way to show all the pictures but here are a few that show some of the themes that I see and love every year.

Mirrors are used on walls to accent the plants and make the spaces look larger.

Containers are used everywhere.  In the small row house lots green space is limited so in order to get more in lots of interesting planters and containers are used.

Antiques and other garden ornaments are used so that they look like cute and cottagey instead of hillbilly and kitschy.

Vertical spaces are just as important as horizontal spaces for planting or hanging other pieces.
